Create time-dependent content in Rule Builder

Send an image or offer to your subscribers based on days and times you choose so they always find the right deal at the right time! You can send a custom greeting or offer that changes based on when the subscriber opens your email.

Start with MPP

Make sure you have all the images you'll need for your email, including an MPP fallback image option.

You may need to create a campaign and mailing or work with an existing one. For a new mailing, select Create a new mailing and tag in your campaign and then choose the Rule Builder icon with light green return arrows. Add a mailing name and a description for your rule builder tag in the modals that appear.

Define your rules in the Rule Flow modal. Rules will be implemented in the order they are entered in the flow. Start with your MPP rule and then continue with the rest of your image options.

For the first rule, select the Condition link on the left under the IF section.

In the Condition Editor dropdown, find Privacy Protection under the Device category. The condition dropdown to the right will automatically change to show Enabled. Save your IF condition, and choose the Edit action link under the THEN side on the right.

With your MPP rule in place, you can continue your rule flow with the timed option your email requires.

Time of day rules

Most time of day rule emails use multiple images. Remember your MPP image, too! You can upload them individually or use the Upload multiple images link in the upper right of the rule flow modal. Select your images and choose Upload now to add them to the rule flow.

Your images may not upload in the order you need them to appear. Use the 3 line horizontal handle in the upper left corner of each rule to drag it to another position in the flow if needed.

With your images in order, start adding your timing conditions. Select the Condition link and choose Time of day from the dropdown.

Select a condition from the next dropdown and then insert a value in the next field using the chooser.

You can include multiple conditions to define the time ranges for each image. If you've used the bulk upload option, your images will be in place under the right side THEN action for each rule but you'll need to include the required URL for each of them.

You can set conditions as either AND conditions or OR conditions for any rule depending on your needs. Toggle the condition by tapping it. The default is AND.

Continue adding conditions for each image. Your final rule is the default image that will appear after your timed images expire or for email clients that don't display the timed options.

Select Next to generate your new tag. Add the code to your email wherever you want your timed images or your alternate image to appear for every subscriber!

Date and time rule builder
